Did you know that there are 3 simple machines that are similar? they are wheel and axle, pulley and screw
they help make work easier.
I am a Year 4 student at Panmure Bridge School, Auckland, New Zealand. My teachers are Mr Wong and Mr Ogilvie.
Did you know that there are 3 simple machines that are similar? they are wheel and axle, pulley and screw
they help make work easier.
I read a few pages of the book: Monster mache art.
In the first section of the book they make some dinosaur art.
The second section they make, one eyed Bob, Monty, and Gnasher the alien dog.
I liked this book because its teaching how to make these creations.
How to read a calendar.
Step 1: find 2 dates you want to use
Step 2: find out what the days are
Step 3: write the month
Step 4: write the day
Step 5: write the year.
I learnt some Maori sentences that are used from around a kicthen.
First I had to find the kicthen words in a maori dictonary.
Next I had to find and or make to put on my google drawing.
After that I had to write the title on the google drawing.
I enjoyed this activity because it helped me learn a bit more maori words.
I learnt what cause and effect is.
I attempted to try write a cause and effect for the things that were happening in the images.
I completed a task that fit with three causes and effects.
I found this a bit easy but also hard because I dont really know how to write an effect.
I revised how to balance and tipping point by playing Block Twister.
First I had to find out when my tipping point was going to happen and make me fall down.
Next we had to put our body parts on what Mr. Wong said to put on a tile, as long as its not the same colour as the last one.
Finally I had to try and stay balanced just like our tipping point and try not to hurt ourselves by tangiling our arms.
I learnt how to tell people to pass something to there left maori.
I revised Tenei, Tena and Tera, which means if your close to something, right next to it, and far away.
Our lesson was telling someone else to pass it to the person to there left in maori, the sentences we had to try and say is,
"Hoatu te ... ki te taha maui." which is, 'pass ... to your left.'
I found this a bit hard becasuse I struggled on the "Hoatu te" part.
I completed a basic facts box challenge.
I only got one answer wrong.
This was a bit easy for me to do and I want to go faster.
This week I learnt some countries in maori.
First I wrote down the english way of saying them, after that I wrote them in maori and put them side to side.
I also know that Ahitereiria is Australia.
The Maori countries were a bit hard for me but they were still pretty easy, next time I want to write some more countries.
Today group A learnt about what balancing is.
First Mr.Ogilvie taught us what balance is. Balance is either standing on one leg or standing on both your feet, because your not falling down when you stand or walk on both legs unless you trip.
After we played an activity were you have to balance on going across the balancing beam.
Then we played a ball activity were we had to balance on it and not do a tipping point.
The ball activivty was fun but I want to stay on for more longer.
I learnt that predicting is about guessing what might happen that didn't happen alraedy.
I made predictions about the information in the book Winter Sports.
Prediction is a little bit hard for me because thinking about something that might happen can be hard.
